With seven highly acclaimed studio albums under their belt, a wealth of international touring experience, and standout appearances at major festivals, Ranagri have built a formidable reputation on the global stage—captivating audiences from Australia, Italy, Portugal and Germany to Montreal and New Orleans.
Renowned for their commanding live performances, the band delivers a sound that is both intricate and expansive. Soaring vocals, rich harmonies, and driving rhythmic energy intertwine with masterful instrumentation—flutes, whistles, harp, bodhrán, hammered dulcimer, percussion and guitars—forming a virtuosic and immersive soundscape around lead singer Dónal Rogers. The result is a musical experience that feels at once intimate, powerful, and unmistakably anthemic.

Walk with us on the farm that gave us our name. The family of guitarist and singer Dónal Rogers have worked this land in County Carlow since the 1600s. His Mum, Lena, still lives there and tells stories of growing up in the three room thatched farm house she shared with her mother and ten siblings. There was no electricity or running water and all cooking was on the open fire. Horses were used to pull the plough. Then Ranagri play the music inspired by her memories. Listen here to FOLK ON FOOT
