Ranagri is a dynamic contemporary folk band that blends traditional Irish and British roots with modern influences and world music textures. Known for their innovative instrumentation, they fuse voices, harp, flutes, guitar and percussion to create a sound that is both deeply rooted in folk traditions and refreshingly original.

Walk with us on the farm that gave us our name. The family of guitarist and singer Dónal Rogers have worked this land in County Carlow since the 1600s. His Mum, Lena, still lives there and tells stories of growing up in the three room thatched farm house she shared with her mother and ten siblings. There was no electricity or running water and all cooking was on the open fire. Horses were used to pull the plough. Then Ranagri play the music inspired by her memories. Listen here to FOLK ON FOOT
It was Christmas 2024 and we were on our traditional winter tour in Germany. We spot a beautiful old church in a beautiful old city called Tübingen. We popped in to say a prayer & sing the chorus of 'Say Hello' a new song from our forthcoming album to be released in 2025
‘Will you say hello to the ones I know;
To the folks I love who won’t grow old.
To the pioneers working through the years,
Will you say a prayer and say hello.’
